Choose your connection
Connect over the internet using an ID and password, or over the same local network using an IP address and temporary password. Local connections need no internet.
Send files intentionally
Start a transfer by selecting files or choosing Send with Uzlak from the Windows context menu. Ordinary copying does not start a transfer.
YOUR FIRST CONNECTION
Your first connection, in three steps.
Install Uzlak on both computers. Then choose the connection that fits your situation.

Open Uzlak on both computers
Select Internet on the home screen. The computer sharing its screen receives a connection ID and temporary password.
- 02
Enter the ID and password
On the connecting computer, enter the other computer’s ID and password and select Connect.
- 03
Start working together
The sharing computer can accept or reject the request; it is accepted unless rejected within 30 seconds. The session opens when the screen and permitted controls are ready.

Join the same local network
Connect both computers to the same network and select Local network on the home screen. Internet access and the Uzlak server are not required.
- 02
Start local sharing
On the computer sharing its screen, select Start local sharing. Give the other person the displayed local IP address, port and temporary password.
- 03
Connect using IP and password
Enter these details on the other computer and select Connect. A correct password needs no additional request approval; the screen prepares with the selected permissions.
Linux screen sharing requires an unlocked X11 session. System permissions and the firewall must allow the connection.

Uzlak checks for new versions in the app and downloads and installs updates with your approval. Administrator approval may be required. Windows and Linux releases are updated independently; version numbers may differ.

Making remote access simpler.
Uzlak is being developed to make remote support clear and controlled. Windows and Linux X11 desktop packages are in testing; operating system requirements are listed alongside each package.
New IP, device-name, message and support-report records are not stored on the server. Connection routing uses transient memory. During development, you can explicitly send a content-free crash diagnostic.

Before you connect.
Does a local connection need internet?
No. Windows or Linux X11 computers on the same network can connect directly using a local IP address, port, and temporary password.
How do I limit control of my computer?
Manage keyboard, mouse, clipboard and file access through sharing permissions. Unattended access is a separate explicit setting. Stopping sharing ends access.
Can I download the Linux version?
Yes. Download the real X11 desktop DEB package from the Linux tab. It targets Ubuntu 26.04 or later on x86_64. Wayland sharing and Linux unattended access are not yet supported.
